1938 – Albridge was born in Houston, Texas on August 18, 1938.
1960 – Received his bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering at Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University.
1962 – Received his master’s degree in aeronautical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
1967-1972 – Became a staff of the assistant secretary of defense for systems analysis as an operations research analyst. Appointed Director of the Strategic Defensive Division and an adviser to the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks in Helsinki and Vienna.
1974-1976 – Became deputy assistant secretary of defense for strategic programs and later director of planning and evaluation, a principal adviser to the secretary of defense in the planning and program evaluation of U.S. military forces and support structure.
1977 – Became Vice President of the National Policy and Strategic Systems Group for the Systems Planning Corporation.
1981 – Became United States Under-Secretary of the Air Force.
1986-1988 – Became United States Secretary of the Air Force.
1988-1992 – Became President of the Electronic Systems Company division and later Chief Executive Officer of The Aerospace Corporation.
2001 – As the Under-Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics. He was confirmed as the Pentagon’s top weapons buyer on May 8, 2001.
