Alda, Frances(Fanny Jane Davis)

1879 - Alda was born in Christchurch, New Zealand on May 31, 1879.

1886 - Started her singing career in light operettas in Melbourne.

1902 - Went to Europe for a promising career.

1904 - Had her singing debut as Manon in Massenet's "Manon" at the Paris Opera-Comique.

1906-1908 - Worked as a singer at La Scala for three seasons.

1910 - Married Giulio Gatti-Casazza.

1928 - She retires from singing and continued to do recordings and performances.

1941 - Married, Ray Vir Den who is ten years her junior.

1952 - Died on September 18, 1952.
