1902 – Alberti was born in Puerto de Santa Maria on December 16, 1902.

1929 – Wrote the Cal y canto or "Quick line became a member of the Generation of 27.

1930 – Wrote Con los zapatos puestos tengo que morir or "I Have to Die Wearing my Own Shoes".

1931 – Became and joined the communist party.

1939 – Fled to Argentina following the victory of Franco

1965 – Received the Lenin Peace Price Award.

1983 – Received the Premio Cervantes Award, world’s highest honour in Spanish literature.

1999 – Died on October 28, 1999.
