Albert, Henry William Frederick(Duke of Gloucester)

1900 - Albert was born in York Cottage, Sandringham on March 31, 1900.

1919 - Joined the Army instead of the Royal Navy and attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

1928 - His father gave him the title Duke of Gloucester, Earl of Ulster and Baron Culloden.

1934 - King George V of Ireland made him a Knight of Saint Patrick.

1935 - Married Lady Alice Christabel Montagu-Douglas-Scott on November 6, 1935.

1942 - Rejoined the Army as a Chief Liaison Officer follwing the start of World War II.

1945 - Appointed Governor-General of Australia for two years.

1955 - Appointed Field Marshall of the Army.

1958 - Appointed Marshal of the Royal Air Force.

1974 - Died on June 10, 1974.
