1860 – Albeniz was born in Catalonia, Spain on May 29, 1860.

1864 – At the age of four, he was already considered a child prodigy.

1867 – He passed the entrance examination at the Paris Conservatoire at the age of seven.

1875 – At the age of fifteen, he already traveled the globe performing concerts.

1876 – Studied in Brussel after his stay at the Leipzig Conservatory.

1880 – Went to Budapest to study with Franz Liszt.

1883 – Met Felipe Pedrell, a teacher and composer, inspired him to write music in Spanish.

1890 – Wrote theatrical works while living in London and Paris.

1896 – Composed "Pepita Jimenez" for the opera.

1900 – Diagnosed with a kidney disease.

1909 – Died in Cambo-les-Bains on May 18, 1909.
