1937 - Alarcon was born in Havana on May 21, 1937.

 

1954 - Studied at University of Havana.

 

1955-1956 - An active member of the Federation of University Students and became secretary of culture for the FEU for one years.

 

1962 - Appointed Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Americas division.

 

1966-1978 - Elected as Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations and held three other position in the UN.

 

1978 - Became First Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

1992 - Became Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

1993 - Became the elected President of the National Assembly.
