1889 – Akhmatova was born in Bolshoy Fontan, Odessa on June 23, 1889.
1900 – At the tender age of eleven, Anna started writing her poems
1910 – Married Nikolay Gumilyov, boyish poet.
1912 – Published her first collections of poetry entitled Evening.
1914 – Published her second collections of poetry entitled Rosary.
1921- Her husband was executed for activities considered anti-Soviet.
1925-1952 – After the incident that happened to her husband, she became so silent that she was unable to publish her poetry. Translated Leopardi.
1965 – Received the taormina Prize and the honorary doctoral degree from Oxford University.
