1935 - Born in Erzincan, Turkey.
1955 - He was educated in Law at Istanbul University, after he graduated, he worked as a free-lance lawyer.
1987 - He was then elected Speaker of the Parliament serving on the 24th of December.
1989 - He became Prime Minister for almost two years.
1999 - He was elected for the second time Speaker of the Grand National Assembly on the 20th of May that lasted until September the following year.
