1956 - Mahnoud Ahmadinejad was born in the village of Aradan on October 28, 1956.

 

1976 - He took the entrance exams in Iran's National University to gain admission into Iran's top universities.

 

1984 - Continued his studies and entered the Master of Science program for civil engineering.

 

1987 - Received his PhD in traffic and transportation engineering and planning.

 

2003 - Appointed as a Mayor of Tehran by the second City Council of Tehran on May 3, 2003.

 

2005 - He was shortlisted in a list of 65 finalist for World Mayor. His resignation from his post as the mayor of Tehran was accepted on June 28, 2005. Ahmadinejad became the President of Iran on August 6, 2005. He received his presidential authorization from the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei on August 3, 2005.

 

2006 - Ahmadinejad submitted his first annual budget to Iran's parliament on January 15, 2006. He opposed encouraging families to have just two children on October 2006. He anoounced that the rules of preventing women from watching men playing sports in stadium will be reversed on April 24, 2006. Ahmadinjad announced that Iran would have peaceful nuclear technology very soon on January 11, 2006.
