Ahern, Patrick Bartholomew(Bertie Ahern)
1951 - Ahern was born in Drumcondra, Dublin on September 12, 1951.
1968 - At the age of 17, he became a member of Fianna Fail.
1969 - Participated in the General Election.
1971 - Attended Saint Patrick's National School in Drumcondra, Saint Aidan's Christian Brothers in Whitehall and Dublin Institute.
1975 - Married Miriam Kelly.
1977 - Elected as a Member of the Parliament and received 4,000 preference votes.
1979 - Appointed as Assisstant-Government Chief Whip.
1982 - Became Government Chief Whip and Fianna Fail Spokesperson on Labour.
1986 - Became the Lord Mayor of Dublin.
1987-1989 - Became Minister for Labour.
1990 - Acted as campaign manager for Brian Lenihan.
1994 - On November 17, 1994, Ahern was elected as the sixth leader of Fianna Fail.
1997 - At the age of 45, Ahern was elected as Prime Minister on June 26, 1997. The youngest to assume the position as Prime Minister.
2004 - Celebrated his tenth year anniversary as leader of Fianna Fail.
