Agt, Andreas Antonius Maria van (Dries)
1931 - Born on the 2nd of February in Geldrop-Mierlo.
1955 - He studied at the Catholic University of Nijmegen, where he received his Doctorate in Law.
- He practiced law in Eindhoven for two years.
1957 - He worked in the office of legal and business affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
1962 - He worked for the Ministry of Justice.
1968 - He was a Professor of Criminal Law at the Catholic University of Nijmegen.
1971 - He became Minister of Justice in the government of Barend Biesheuvel.
1972 - He caused outraged when he tried to pardon the last three Nazi war criminals still in Dutch prisons.
1973 - He was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice in the government of Joop den Uyl.
1977 - He became the Prime Minister of the Netherlands in three successive governments.
1983 - He remained a member of the Dutch Parliament and was appointed as the Queen's Commissioner of the North Brabant Province.
1987 - He served Ambassador of the European Community to Japan for two years.
1989 - He became Ambassador of the European Community to the United States for six years.
1995 - He was a Visiting Professor of International Relations at the University of Kyoto.
- He is currently Prime Counsellor for the International Forum for Justice and Peace.
