1924 – Orlando Ramon Agosti was born.
1976 – One of the three military officer that started a military junta to overthrew Isabel Peron. He was also a member of the triumvirate, Videla, Massera, Agosti, that seized power in Argentina.
1979 – Participated in coup d‘état and gained power. The military junta’s murdered or forcibly from 10’000 to 30’000 people. Along similar lines, some 500’000 opponents of the regime found themselves forced into exile to escape from its repression.
1985 – His trial, together with all the military junta’s opened on April 22, 1985. He was accused of 88 murders, 581 illegal arrests, 278 cases of torture of which seven resulted in death, 110 theft in aggravating circumstances and 11 abductions of minors. On December of the same year, Agosti was found guilty of eight specific counts of torture and was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
1989 – Released from prison on May 9, 1989.
1990 – He was pardoned by President Menem.
1997 – Orlando Ramon Agosti died.
