
1888 – Agnon was born in Buczacz, Galicia on July 17th.
1896 – He was educated by his parents and learned to write in Hebrew and Yiddish at the age of eight.
1903 – Produced his first creative work at the age of 15, poem in Yiddish about the Kabbalist Joseph della Reina.
1908 – Released his work titled "Forsaken Wives" which was published in the journal Ha’omer.
1912 – Published the novel "And the Crooked Shall Be Made Straight".
1920 – Married Esther Marx in Germany.
1931 – Published the novel "The Bridal Canopy" making him a central figure in Hebrew literature.
1935 – Published the novel "A Simple Story".
1945 – Published the novel "Yesteryear".
1966 – Won the Nobel Prize in Literature.
1970 – Died in Jerusalem, Israel on February 17th.
