Agardh, Carl Adolph

1785 – Born on the 13th of January in Sweden.

1812 – He was appointed professor of botany and practical economy at Lund University.

1816 – He was ordained a clergyman and received two parishes as "Prebend" (a post
          connected to an Anglican or Catholic cathedral).

1817 – He was a representative in the clerical chamber of the Swedish Parliament on several occasions.

1819 – He was rector magnificus of Lund University for one year.

1831 – He was elected a member of the Swedish Academy.

1835 – He was appointed bishop of Karlstad.

1859 – He died on the 28th of January.
