1812 - He was appointed professor of botany and practical economy at Lund University.
1816 - He was ordained a clergyman and received two parishes as "Prebend" (a post
connected to an Anglican or Catholic cathedral).
1817 - He was a representative in the clerical chamber of the Swedish Parliament on several occasions.
1819 - He was rector magnificus of Lund University for one year.
1831 - He was elected a member of the Swedish Academy.
1835 - He was appointed bishop of Karlstad.
1859 - He died on the 28th of January.
