984   - He was appointed, through Dunstan's influence, to the Bishopric of Winchester.

1006 - He succeeded Aelfric as Archbishop of Canterbury.

1011 - He was captured and kept in prison for seven months.

1012 - He was murdered in Greenwich, London on the 19th of April.

1078 - He was canonised.
