1956 - His movie "Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing" was nominated for best picture.
- He was remembered for producing the film "Bus Stop", starring Marilyn Monroe.
1957 - He was the recipient of the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.
1960 - He died of lung cancer on the 22nd of July, in Los Angeles at the age of 51. He was interred in the
Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale California.
