Addonizio, Hugh Joseph

1914 - Born on the 31st of January in Newark, New Jersey.

1939 - He graduated from Fordham University in New York City and went to work for A&C Clothing, Co.

1946 - He became vice president in Newark.

1948 - He ran for and won a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Democrat, representing New

                Jersey's 11th congressional district.

1962 - He resigned his seat on the 30th of June to run for mayor of Newark.

          - He served as mayor for eight years.

1967 - He was convicted of corruption after leaving office.

1979 - He was sentenced to 10 years but was released after serving five.

1981 - He died on the 2nd of February in Red Bank, New Jersey.
