1755 – Adams was born in Medfield, Massachusetts on October 2, 1755.

1767 – Her mother died when she was twelve years old. Acquired knowledge in Greek and Latin from divinity students.

1772 – Obliged to provide for themselves because their father went bankrupt. Supported herself by making and selling lace.

1784 – Adams principal work was the "View of Religious Opinions".

1799 – Published the "Summary History of New England".

1801 – Published her edited version of "An Abridgment of the History of New England".

1804 – Published her synthesis "The Truth and Excellence of the Christian Religion Exhibited". Adams described herself as a Unitarian Christian.

1832 – Adams died in Brookline, Massachusetts on December 15, 1831 and was buried in the prestigious Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
