1860 – He began his career on the stage in "The Hunchback" , at the National Theatre in Boston.

          – He appeared in Hamlet with Kate Josephine Bateman.

1865 – He appeared in The Serf, The Dead Heart, Wild Oats, The Lady of Lyons, Narcisse, and The Marble Heart.

1869 – He joined Edwin Booth’s acting company, appearing in Romeo and Juliet.

1870 – He toured the country performing his best-known roles.

1876 – His last appearance was at the California Theatre in San Francisco.

1877 – He died on the 28th of October.
