1915 - Born on June 30th in Indianapolis. He was known as "Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of Political Economy".

 

1940 - Received his masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Michigan.

 

1961 - Wrote "Macroeconomic Theory".

 

1963 - Wrote "Un Modello Econometrico dello Sviluppo Italiano nel Dopoguerra".

 

1962 - Became a member of Council of Economic Advisors.

 

1964 - Appointed as chairman of Council of Economic Advisors under president Lyndon Johnson.

 

1968-1969 - He was appointed as the U.S. Ambassador to Italy.

 

1982 - Elected as president of American Economic Association.
