Aberdeen, Earl of(George Hamilton-Gordon)
1784 - Born on 28th of January in Edinburgh.
1852-1855 - Prime minister of Britain through most of the CRIMEAN WAR.
1828-1846 - He served twice as foreign secretary.
- Succeeded in the settling of two boundary disputes with the United States by the Webster Ashburton and Oregon treaties.
1854 - As prime minister, he allowed a diplomatic drift that led to Britain's entry into the Crimean War.
- Blamed for poor management of the war and was forced to resign.
1860 - Died on 14th of December in London.
