Abel, Sidney Gerald(Sid)
1918 - He was Born on the 22nd of February in Melville, Saskatchewan, Canada.
1938 - His playing career started, playing with Detroit Red Wings.
1952- He was traded from the Red Wings to the Blackhawks and served as a player-coach for the next
two seasons.
1953 - He played for both the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks,winning three Stanley Cups.
1957 - He returned to the Red Wings and served as Detroit's coach through the 1969-70 season.
1969 - He was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
1970 - He worked as a color commentator Red Wings radio broadcasts for ten years.
1998 - He was ranked number 85 on "The Hockey News" list of the 100 Greatest Hockey Players.
2000 - He died on the 7th of February.
