1898 - Born on the 3rd of February in Kuortane, Finland.

 

1916 - He studied architecture at the Helsinki University of Technology.

 

1920 - He started off from a classical education and were first designing in the so-called Nordic Classicism.

 

1927 - He moved his office to Turku and started collaborating with architect Erik Bryggman.

 

1929 - He designed the Turun Sanomat Building and Paimio Sanatorium.

 

1932 - He invented a new form of laminated bent-plywood furniture.

 

1933 - His office moved again to Helsinki. - He attended the fourth congress in Athens.

 

1935 - The Aaltos designed and built a joint house-office for themselves in Munkkiniemi, Helsinki. - He first achieved world attention in architecture.

 

1952 - He married architect Elissa Mäkiniemi (died on 1994).

 

1957 - They designed and had built a summer cottage, the so-called Experimental House in Muuratsalo.

 

- He received an awards the Royal Gold Medal for Architecture from the Royal British Architecs.

 

1963 - He received a Gold Medal from the American Institute of Architects.

 

1976 - He died on the 11th of May in Helsinki.
