1867 - Born on July 10th in Chicago, Illinois. Irish-American editor and humorist who is perhaps best known for having created the character "Mr. Dooley the saloon-keeper".

1898-1919 - Author of the books, Mr Dooley in Peace and War, Mr. Dooley in the Hearts of His Countrymen, Mr. Dooley's Philosophy, Mr. Dooley's Opinions, Observations by Mr. Dooley, Dissertations by Mr. Dooley, Mr. Dooley Says and Mr. Dooley on Making a Will and Other Necessary Evils.

         - Married to Margaret Abbott on December 10th.

1936 - Died on April 24th in New York City.
