Alcott, Louisa May

1832 - Alcott was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 29, 1832.

1854 - Wrote her first book, Flower Fables.

1860 - She is a contributor for the Atlantic Monthly.

1862-1863 - Worked as a nurse in the Union Hospital at Georgetown, D.C..

1868 - Wrote a semiautobiographical account of her childhood years titled Little Women: or Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy.

1875 - Became the first woman to register to vote in Concord, Massachusetts.

1888 - Died in Boston on March 6, 1888 at the age fifty-six.
