Benedict, Ruth(nee Fulton)
US anthropologist and popularizer of anthropology
1887 - Born on the 6th of June in New York.
1909 - Graduated at Vassar College.
1919 - She entered graduate studies at Columbia University and studying under Franz Boas.
1923 - Received her PhD and joining the faculty in Columbia University.
1934 - Wrote "Patterns of Culture".
1936 - She was appointed an associate professor at Columbia University.
She continued her teaching after the war, advancing to the rank of full professor.
1948 - She died in New York on 17th of September.
A U.S. postage stamp in her honor was issued October 20, 1995.
