1895 - Born in Madanapalle, India on the 12th of May.

1903 - The family settled in Cudappah where Krishnamurti in a previous stay had contracted malaria, a disease with which he would suffer recurrent bouts over many years.

1920 - He spent much time in the U.S. and Europe.

1929 - He broke with formal theosophy and renounced any claims to being a World Teacher, but he continued to be a popular lecturer. His desire, he said, was to set people free, a goal that could only be achieved through unflinching self-awareness.

1956 - Commentaries on Living.

1969 - He headed the Krishnamurti Foundation.

         - Freedom from the Known.

1975 - The First and Last Freedom.

1986 - Died on the 17th of February.
