US wife of Lyndon Johnson
1934 - She married Lyndon Johnson in Saint Mark's Episcopal Church on the 17th of November.
1963-1969 - Became the First Lady.
1970 - She focused her attention on the Austin, Texas riverfront area through her involvement in the Town Lake Beautification Project
1999 - Was hospitalized for a fainting spell on the 11st of November.
1973 - After President Johnson died, she remained in the public eye, honoring her husband and other Presidents.
Kennedy Center Honorary Chair.
National Geographic Society trustee emeritus.
1977 - Presidential Medal of Freedom.
1989 - Congressional Gold Medal.
1970 - She published a memoir, White House Diary.
1993 - Her health began to fail. She suffered a minor stroke in August and became legally blind due to macular degeneration.
