1889 - Fannie Hurst, born on the 19th of October in Hamilton, Ohio a Jewish family. She was an American novelist.

1909 - Went to Washington University in St. Louis and graduated.

1915 - She married Jacques S. Danielson of New York, a pianist, but the marriage was not announced until five years later.

1921 - She was among the first to join the Lucy Stone League, an organization that fought for women to preserve their maiden names.

1931 - 1933 - Some of her more famous novels were "Back Street", Stardust, Lummox, A President is Born, and Imitation of Life.

1940 - She was active in the Urban League, and was appointed to the National Advisory Committee to the Works Progress Administration.

1952 - She was also a delegate to the World Health Organization.

1968 - Died on the 23rd of February at the age of 79.
