1951 - Born on March 14th in Brooklyn, New York. The co-Founder Of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.

1974 - Jerry moved to North Carolina with his wife-to-be, Elizabeth.

1978 - After receiving A’s in a $5 Penn State correspondence course in ice cream making, they set up their Ben & Jerry’s ice cream parlor in Burlington, Vermont, opening in May.

1985 - Jerry and Elizabeth returned to Vermont, and he rejoined the company as “Director of Mobile Promotions.”

1987 - Jerry was married to Elizabeth.

1988 - Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield were named the U.S. Small Business Persons of the Year by President Reagan.

1993 - Winner of the James Beard Humanitarians of the Year award.

1997 - Recognized by the Peace Museum as the Community Peacemakers of the Year.

         - Greenfield has co-authored two books with Cohen, in the more recent of which, Double Dip, Lead with Your Values and Make Money Too, they share their experiences with integrating progressive social values into the day-to-day activities of a business.
